Living Bricks is a simple project with the sole aim of connecting potential sponsors with East African young people who require help with paying their school fees.
The idea was born out of my time spent in Uganda completing a Discipleship Training School run by Youth With A Mission between August 2014 and January 2015. I met many young men and women passionate about their dream/vision but who were unable to complete the necessary education/training due to a lack of finances.
This challenged me as my education had been handed to me on a plate and yes I had just taken it for granted. I was born in a country where a good primary and secondary education is provided for by the state, and into a family that could afford to support a graduate and post-graduate education. This enabled me to fulfill my dream to work with young people as a senior school Geography teacher and to work internationally.
One of the challenges that Lauren Cunningham, the founder of YWAM, presented to me is that our giving should be relational. I have now experienced for myself the reality of this and can testify to the satisfaction that comes from developing a relationship with those you feel led to give to.
On the 'People' page you will be introduced to the people I met who indicated that they would appreciate a sponsor to help them complete their education/training or who have been referred to me by trusted friends in East Africa. Their story may strike a chord with you and you maybe able to help them in someway.
This website is just a means to help you connect and decide if you are willing and able to help someone to fulfill their dream and build their nation.
